It would be useful enable it on Windows 200X/2012 R2
in any case on 2012 it is deprecated https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/hh831568.aspx:
"SNMP is deprecated. Instead, use the Common Information Model (CIM), which is supported by the WS-Management web services protocol and implemented as Windows Remote Management."
It would be better utilize SNMP 3 due to security concerns.
